Flying Hippopotamus is a 2 movement work consisting of a Chorale movement and a Fun Swing/Big Band movement. The piece was Commissioned by the Charbonneau Arts Association of OregonFor The Canby High School Jazz Band and the Big Horn Brass to promote music education through collaborations of student and professional musicians.  This work was specially composed to feature both a student group and a professional group together in one piece.  This is the Jazz Band version of the work.  It also comes in a Brass Ensemble Orchestration and Combined Orchestration for Jazz Band and Brass Ensemble.
 
Orchestration: 2 alto sax, 2 tenor sax, 1 bari sax, 4 trumpets, 2 trombones, 1 bass trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Drum Set, Double Bass, Piano and 4 French Horns
